Welsh mezzo-soprano singer Katherine Jenkins has been revealed as a new presenter for Songs Of Praise.
Katherine’s first episode will broadcast on Sunday 23 July, where she will explore the Sussex seaside town of Hastings and hear inspiring and uplifting stories of faith in the area. The classical star will also meet volunteers from a local church, who are helping new mums by providing Moses baskets full of donations.
“Having watched Songs Of Praise for as long as I can remember and after the many appearances on the show over the past 12 years, it is wonderful to officially become part of the family. I am hugely excited about my new role, about working with my friend Aled again and about meeting and worshipping with new people across the country.” – Katherine Jenkins
The edition will also see Sean Fletcher report from Leicestershire about the renowned Christian choral singers, VOCES8, whose mission it is to get young men singing. The Good Morning Britain star made his debut as a presenter on the show on July, 9.
“Songs Of Praise has been part of Britain’s TV fabric for over 50 years. As a Christian I’m thrilled to be joining the team and look forward to exploring both my own beliefs and others.” – Sean Fletcher
Songs Of Praise will continue to work with its full roster of well-loved hosts, including Aled Jones and Pamela Rhodes the beeb note.
