The EastEnders actor exited the competition in this weekend’s musical-themed quarter-final.
Davood and his partner Nadiya Bychkova found themselves in the dance off alongside singer Alexandra Burke and her partner Gorka Marquez after the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.
Both couples performed their routines again; Davood and Nadiya did their Argentine Tango to The Phantom of the Opera from the musical of the same name while Alexandra and Gorka performed their Charleston to Supercalifragilistic from Mary Poppins.
The judges then delivered their verdicts with a clean sweep in Alexandra and Gorka’s favour.
“There have been so many highlights I’ve had, honestly the best time. I never thought I’d get this far which is why I’m smiling as I never thought I’d reach this point.
“I never thought I’d get to see and meet such amazing people. We’re all mates, every comment I’ve ever received good and bad, and to dance in front of audiences like this has been a real gift. I’m going to spend the next couple of weeks at home dancing with my two beautiful girls who are now huge fans of the show.
“I need to thank so many people, my beautiful family, my wife who’s been running Team Ghadami whilst we’ve been doing this, but this is Nadiya’s first year on this show and I think she’s done incredibly well. I’m so privileged to have met her, thank you!” – Davood Ghadami
Nadiya added: “It’s such a privilege to have been part of your journey because I think it’s been incredible, the way you’ve improved and come so far, thank you for everything.”
Tonight’s results show opened with a spectacular group performance of some of the most popular songs from the musical Dreamgirls accompanied by stars from the show. There was also a performance from the Leading Ladies – Beverley Knight, Amber Riley and Cassidy Janson.
