Pick of the Plots: Monday January 22nd

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Gary follows Bethany to a lap dancing club and is horrified to realise Bethany and her mate work there as dancers. Gary tries to drag Bethany out but she summons security. Later, a shameless Bethany tells Sarah she’s been working as a lap dancer and that Gary tried to grope her, however when confronted Gary insists that Bethany set him up.

Roy gives Anna a glowing character reference but is forced to admit that she did slap Seb in the café. Meanwhile, Eileen sees some CCTV footage of Gary and Tim apparently threatening Seb. When Tim is called as a witness he’s forced to admit that he and Gary encouraged Seb to change his story, Anna’s heart sinks whilst Phelan looks like the cat who’s got the cream. As the judge sums up the case what will be the verdict?

Elsewhere, Toyah’s devastated when Jacqui the surrogate loses the baby; Gemma throws Henry a Newton & Ridley themed surprise party in the Rovers; Adam tells Billy he can get his hands on some stronger painkillers; and Billy tells Eileen he’s meeting Todd and Summer tomorrow.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

The men involved in Aidan’s job come out of hiding and try to get to the bottom of where the money has gone – especially keen to locate the loot is Mick with the deadline looming to save the Vic. As accusations fly amongst the men, Billy tells Phil that Mel has returned and is left fearing for Ben’s safety when he clocks she is after the money. Back at The Vic, Mick blindsides his family and tells them he’ll have the money by the end of the week in time to pay Fi the money for the freehold…

Meanwhile, Martin is stunned when Stacey returns with the children and tries to get back to normal. After taking some time out to think about things, Stacey returns to Martin who is suspicious and accuses her of visiting Max again. Stacey denies the accusation but a huge argument soon erupts and when Martin crosses the line, Stacey slaps him. As the situation spirals out of control, Martin throws Stacey out of the house.

Elsewhere, Tiffany tries to play matchmaker for Whitney and sets up a lunch with Halfway; Johnny tells his family he’s been offered a new job away from London.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Debbie wants revenge on Joe and heads up to Home Farm. Cain soon realises she’s taken petrol canisters, and knowing where she’s gone, jumps in his car with Ross. At Home Farm, Joe arrives to find Debbie waiting for him as she explains she’s rigged the place. Joe loses his cool as Debbie scolds him for everything he’s done. Cain and Ross arrive but will they manage to talk Debbie down?

Meanwhile, Faith tells Pollard she may have judged him too harshly and is thankful for his heroics. He’s horrified to learn Tracy has arranged for the paper to interview him

Elsewhere, Belle encourages Lachlan to organise Chrissie and Lawrence’s funeral.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Scarlett threatens that she’s going to ruin the wedding and lurks in the background as Luke and Mandy make their way into Nightingale’s. Darren wonders whether to stop the wedding but the couple exchange vows. Everyone is enjoying the celebration when Luke’s 14 year old son, Oliver bursts into the restaurant and reveals everything in front of Mandy.

Meanwhile, Darcy begs Jack to forgive her but Adam has already called the police. Jack sends them away but still doesn’t want Darcy anywhere near him or The Bean. She tries to change his mind by seducing him…

Elsewhere, Scott helps Maggie fulfill her bucket list against Damon’s wishes.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.


Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

When Valerie tries to tell Emma about her new diet, Emma heads her off by saying that she is thinking about registering her house with ‘HomeBnB’ to rent out the spare room. Valerie immediately offers her advice and criticises some pictures Emma has already taken. When the subject gets back to food, Emma tells her that a good diet is fine, but you shouldn’t take it too far.

Elsewhere, Sid uncovers a nasty truth when dealing with a patient who is scared of older men; Jimmi prepares himself for a night out with Will.

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
