Pick of the Plots: Tuesday May 8th

We take a look at the latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

Freed from prison, Scarlett’s joy is marred by sibling rivalry as she comes face-to-face with her sister, Theresa. There’s no love lost between the pair and Scarlett’s horrified to see how close Theresa has grown to her nearest and dearest while she was incarcerated.

At Scarlett’s welcome home party, the sisters secretly trade snipes while putting on a united front. Desperate to expose Theresa’s duplicity, Scarlett hatches a plan to publicly humiliate her sister but it sets in motion a devastating turn of events, with deadly consequences for Liz Hamilton.

Elsewhere, Angus launches his ‘Big Mug’ coffee business; tensions grow between Pete and Caitlin. 

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Mel is unnerved when she spots a car with blacked out windows casing the Square and with Hunter a no-show at school, she fears the worst – is Aidan back for revenge? Also noticing the car, Kim is reminded of Vincent and is determined to get answers.

Meanwhile, Mick hears an odd noise in the barrel store and goes to investigate only to be jumped on by a man in a balaclava …

Elsewhere, Sonia revels in playing the nurse for Martin but insists to Bex there is nothing in it; Robbie proves a surprise hit at the car lot; and Honey is given an ultimatum.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Bails emerges as Charity puts the bins out. He backs her into a corner and Charity struggles to keep it together, lashing out at the bin when he goes. Later, at the conference, Bails gives Tracy the confidence to start on her speech and Frank, Megan and David are in awe as Tracy takes to the platform.

Meanwhile, Charity’s at the Woolpack drinking wine and staring at Bails’ hush money. She’s suddenly spurred into action and heads off to the conference but what does she have in mind?

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Harry turns to James for help but some news from DS Roxy throws a spanner in the works.

Misbah is still angry at Imran but later an education welfare officer confronts Misbah and organises a home visit. The welfare officer asks if there is any violence at home but Misbah denies it all. Sami angrily confronts Imran but Misbah calms the situation knowing how Imran behaves when mad. Later, Imran and Misbah end up in another row and Misbah gets hurt.

Elsewhere, Diane and Tony are devastated when Dee Dee is diagnosed with encephalitis and treatment is not proving effective.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Zara’s left feeling anxious after receiving a letter in the post. As she attempts to leave for work, she can’t drive the car. She tries a couple of times but struggles to move off. She then turns up in a taxi and feigns car trouble to Karen.

At one point she thinks she’s seen a hoodie at the window, who isn’t there on second glance. Sid is concerned when Zara snaps at him. When Daniel suggests they take Joe out for a pizza and to see a movie, Zara insists they go without her. Later, Zara almost jumps out of her skin when the doorbell goes.

Elsewhere, Al is looking forward to a visit from someone special but who is it?

Doctors, Tuesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
