Born Free actress Virginia McKenna will be joined for the event by acclaimed pianist Panos Karan.
“Children & Wildlife in Harmony brings together three of my greatest passions – classical music, and the well-being of wild animals and children. I do hope you will join us for this very special evening.” – Virginia McKenna OBE
Much-loved Born Free actress and conservationist Virginia McKenna OBE will join special guests including Born Free Foundation Co-Founder and President Will Travers OBE, and actor and animal advocate Dan Richardson, for an exclusive piano recital by pioneering musician and philanthropist Panos Karan.
The performance will feature a performance of Chopin’s 24 evocative and popular Études Opus 10 and Opus 25, together with Debussy’s Étude No 1 ‘Pour les cinq doigts’, interspersed with conversational interludes, with Panos recalling some of his unique musical expeditions to some of the most remote and deprived communities in the world, including sailing down the Amazon river and performing to isolated communities in Ecuador and Peru.
Proceeds from the sale of tickets will benefit both Born Free’s global wildlife conservation work and Panos’ own charity ‘Keys of Change’ which aims to advance the lives of children and young people around the world through musical education and access to live music.
The evening will be hosted by Will Travers, who will speak about Born Free’s education work which runs alongside its wildlife conservation projects, before Panos takes to the stage.
Tickets are now available for ‘Children and Wildlife in Harmony’ on the 11th June at London’s Cadogan Hall. Tickets start from £15, with an exclusive £75 ticket package also available which includes a private pre-concert reception and the opportunity to meet Panos Karan and the celebrity guests.
“Playing Chopin 24 Etudes in Cadogan Hall, one of London’s most elegant venues, for such an exclusive recital is an astounding feat for any pianist. More importantly, I am truly delighted to be part of an event that is raising funds for the admirable work of two unique charities, supporting, at the same time, wildlife and children in need around the world.” – Panos Karan
