Pick of the Plots: Monday October 29th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

After passing out at work, Sinead is rushed to hospital where Daniel becomes aware that there’s something very wrong. Steeling himself Ken breaks the news that Sinead has cervical cancer. Daniel’s devastation turns to fury as he realises Ken has kept Sinead’s illness from him. Daniel’s further horrified when Sinead reveals she’s refused treatment as it would mean losing their baby. Daniel tries to persuade her otherwise but it’s no use.

Later an emotional Daniel is intent on venting his rage at Ken but Peter stops him, pointing out that while Ken has his faults he can’t be blamed for Sinead’s cancer and for respecting her wishes. Ken thanks Peter for his support, and promises to make up for his past mistakes. Back at the hospital, Daniel cuddles Sinead, assuring her that he’ll always love her and will never leave her.

Meanwhile, Steve arrives home and begs Tracy to give their marriage a chance, will she agree? Steve and Liz fall out over his lack of sympathy regarding Hannah. Abi confides in Tracy that she doubts she’ll ever get the twins back now she’s lost her job. Guilty, Tracy vows to help.

Elsewhere, Shona remains suspicious of Nick.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

About to give birth to Alfie’s baby, Hayley fears that the truth will soon be exposed and decides to leave Walford. After learning that a mother and baby hostel won’t take her before the baby is born, Hayley turns to Mariam for help but to no avail. Karen offers her own advice and Hayley soon has a new plan of action but it’s difficult to execute in the busy Slater household. Once alone, however, Hayley realises the plan won’t work. Hayley gets a shock when her waters then break and rushes into the cab to get to hospital.

Meanwhile, Carmel makes a big decision about her future while Keegan is furious when he sees someone has defaced Shakil’s poster. With Carmel refusing to do anything, Keegan locates the person responsible on social media and is quick to antagonise them. With a plan for revenge, Keegan agrees to join the Taylors trick or treating.

Elsewhere, Ruby urges Martin to go out so she can spend time with Stacey; Billy and Honey bring the children over to Jack’s for a Halloween party but when Adam arrives, Billy offers to watch the children alone, glad to get rid of Adam.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Covering his guilt over Joe, Cain tells a bewildered Debbie that as soon as Sarah is better he’s sending her and the kids on the run. Aware that Cain is hiding something, Moira tells him that if he can’t tell Debbie the truth, then he will have to leave rather than sending her away. When an angry Moira presses him further, Cain makes the horrifying admission that he killed Joe, leaving Moira utterly stunned.

Chas and Marlon worry about Paddy returning to work as he is still keeping his emotions pent up. Later, Paddy finally crumbles in David’s shop – will he finally start to deal with his pain?

Elsewhere, Rebecca and Ross continue to discuss their plan to leave; Rishi airs his worries about going to the next level with Manpreet but Nicola has a suggestion for him.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ollie receives Buster’s plea hearing letter, and confides in Brody. Darren wants to help, but Ollie lashes out at him.

As they help him tidy up the village Liberty is touched when she overhears Sienna turning Brody down, so she gives her sister her blessing to date him.

Meanwhile, Sylver notices the phone Max found in the storm is his, with the messages revealing his one-night stand with Mercedes. He convinces Goldie to steal the phone but she finds the text messages and tells Russ about the affair…

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Valerie arrives for work early and explains to a baffled Al that she is perfectly on time because she objects to the clocks changing and intends to stick with Summer Time. To keep track of things she is wearing two watches, one on each wrist, each showing the different times – what could possibly go wrong? It turns out – lots.

Elsewhere, Heston teases Ruhma about being clumsy after she trips in the car park but there’s something she’s not telling him. Ruhma later has a confusing conversation with Jimmi – has she misheard him?
