Pick of the Plots: Thursday January 24th

The latest goings on in EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Mo berates the bailiffs as they remove possessions from the house but things get even worse when the police arrive with some shocking news – they’ve found Alfie’s car at the edge of a cliff. As Kat explains the text she got from Alfie to Stacey and Mo she is adamant Alfie’s not dead and urges them to trust him. Later, Stacey sympathises as she overhears Kat reassuring Tommy that Alfie will be back soon, but Kat panics when she calls Alfie and learns the number is not in use.

Later, Kat is stunned when she finds half of a message from Alfie on a post-it note in her bag but despairs when Ernie tells her he has eaten the other part. Meanwhile, Phil is furious when he learns Alfie has done a runner and barges into the Slaters demanding answers. Kat is shocked to learn Alfie loaned fifty grand from Phil and determined to get his money back, he tells Kat that the debt is now hers.

Meanwhile, Keegan struggles when he gets a reminder of Shakil and thinks drugs will help. Unable to borrow money off Karen, he storms out as Mitch sweet talks Karen into watching Bailey again. Keegan bumps into Phil who asks him to give Keanu and Louise his blessing to patch things up with Louise. Keegan agrees in exchange for cash.

Mortified at Phil’s meddling, Louise desperately tries to apologise to Keanu. Later, Louise and Bernadette have a surprise heart to heart and emboldened by Bernadette’s advice, Louise snubs Keanu when he tries to let her down gently and leaves.

Elsewhere, Stuart realises that Dennis’ drone could be the answers to his problems; Denise tells Patrick she’s lost her job and he tries his best to cheer her up.

EastEnders, Thursday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

The police open a full investigation into Joe.

Marlon and Jessie have a hushed conversation about the pregnancy test while Manpreet hopes Rishi will invite her to live at Holdgate. Priya broaches the subject with Rishi.

Elsewhere, a frustrated Brenda tries to get hold of Bob.

Emmerdale, Thursday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

After watching Terry being mean and homophobic around Lucas, Ste agrees to help Terry steal the TVs if it means him leaving. However, Ste’s conscience soon gets the better of him and he tips off the police. Having had a narrow escape, Terry goes to Ste’s and threatens him, saying that he’ll have to stay indefinitely and that Ste will pay for his betrayal.

Meanwhile, Romeo and Lily are rebuilding their friendship, which leads to a kiss, not knowing Diane is watching. Diane confronts Lily, and tells her that she’s ashamed of her. Lily is so crushed, she starts self-harming again.

Elsewhere, Alfie has been accepted for an internship in Washington DC, but doesn’t want to leave Cindy. Cindy convinces him to take it. Alfie is scared of having another episode by himself and asks Yazz to come to Washington with him.

Hollyoaks, Thursday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Someone has graffitied the sign outside the Mill, but Mrs Tembe doesn’t seem too bothered when Karen alerts her to the matter. Karen guesses that she still hasn’t given Gordon her answer. Mrs Tembe seeks Ruhma’s advice, but Ruhma is preoccupied as she is moving out of Emma’s house soon.

Meanwhile, Al mentions to Ayesha that his mum won’t stop nagging him to get out more. Later, Al gets a voice message from a friend talking about ‘larping’, which he quickly cuts off, but not before Ayesha overhears. She encourages him to go for it and even agrees to join him, although she later backs out after realising what larping is and enlists Valerie in her place.

Ayesha thinks she’s off the hook as Al and Valerie start talking characters, but before she can sneak away, Al insists that they work out Ayesha’s character next…

Doctors, Thursday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
