Pick of the Plots: Tuesday February 19th

The latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

Lenny’s revenge comes to a bloody conclusion; Amber struggles with serious withdrawals from her drug addiction; and blinded by her obsession with Alex, Nicole refuses to believe the shocking rumours which raise their head.

A bewildered Lenny is stunned as his victim falls to her knees – he’s shot Lydia. As she dies in his arms, an inconsolable Lenny delivers the love of his life her last rites. Realising the enormity of what he’s done, Lenny pushes his grief aside to clean up the murder scene and hide Lydia’s body before the police come calling.

The next morning, Lenny tells Amber her mother is missing and misinforms Lou about Lydia’s last known movements. When Alex discovers Lydia’s missing he panics, assuming the worst. As Lou starts an investigation locally, Lenny lies unravel. Feigning concern, Lenny takes drastic action to cover his murderous tracks, calls Lydia’s phone in front of Lou, leading the policewoman to make a shocking discovery and an arrest for murder.

Elsewhere, Amber is really struggling from drugs withdrawal, snubbing Gabriel’s affections. Lou offers Amber a safe haven at her flat, concealing her condition from Angus and Sonny. However, her drugs habit is overshadowed by devastating news.

With her sights firmly set on Alex, Nicole turns seductress. In the cold light of day, a sober Alex discards Nicole, leaving her feeling used. When Alex becomes the prime suspect in Lydia’s murder, Nicole refuses to accept he could be guilty.

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

It’s the day of Doctor Legg’s funeral, Dot isn’t well enough to attend and is disappointed to see the Walford residents not paying their respects. At the chapel, Sonia steps in for Dot and reads Dr Legg’s eulogy. Later at The Vic, Dot is touched to see so many people and is stunned to see two blasts from the past – Lofty and Mary. The old guard reminisce and raise a toast to Dr Legg before everyone gathers in the Square to bid him one final farewell.

Meanwhile, Masood’s nieces Iqra and Habiba burst into Walford with their sights firmly set on Walford East. As he says goodbye to Denise, Masood spots his nieces and is quick to quiz them. However, Iqra thinks on her feet saying they’ve arrived to help look after the restaurant while he is away but why are they really there? As they both rave about Masood’s plans to leave Walford, his suspicions grow.

Elsewhere, Karen keeps up the pressure on Sharon.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

A vengeful Leon stalks Dawn, turning up in her house. Harriet is in awe as Dawn stands up to him and throws him out. Dawn and Harriet head over to the Woolpack only to witness Ryan being made a move on by an old friend, Gail.

Meanwhile, Rishi is concerned when Manpreet lies about taking a day off work – is she having an affair? Jai, who knows what she’s really up to, warns Manpreet he’s watching her. Later, a confused Laurel catches Manpreet with the company credit card

Elsewhere, Marlon’s delighted when Paddy gives him an idea for his surprise honeymoon – Belfast. But will Jessie like it?

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

When Laurie confirms that there was a kiss, Brody storms out. Sinead also makes a quick exit after telling Laurie that they’re over. Sally demands to speak to Sienna and Laurie and when Laurie stands by his story that she kissed him, Sienna concedes that she crossed a line. Later, Sienna and Brody talk and she explains Laurie’s power play to him.

Meanwhile, Laurie makes Sinead feel guilty for causing a scene and forces her to admit she loves him. Laurie and Sinead kiss, but Laurie is forceful and Sinead feels uncomfortable. Later, Sinead takes painkillers with a bruise on her wrist. Did Laurie purposely hurt her…

Elsewhere, a nasty post about Misbah is posted online; Tom and Harley have a heart to heart which leads to a kiss, whilst Sami and Liberty also lock lips when he comes to her rescue.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Daniel and Zara struggle to be in each other’s company and try to distract themselves by talking about work. Sid and Zara find themselves alone in the staffroom and his awkward attempt to tell her he is sorry to hear about her and Daniel is met by a steely glare. Later, during a boring meeting about budgets, Daniel blurts out that he misses Zara.

Meanwhile, Al cannot believe his luck when he finds a rare collectable figurine that he has been after for a long time. However, he has to wait until tomorrow to collect it. He relays everything to Catrin who totally gets it. As he continues to gush, Al says something that could completely change their relationship.

Doctors, Tuesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
