Rob convinces Joyce to let him interview Jimmi, but as he probes Jimmi’s relationship with Addison, Jimmi clams up. In a flashback we see Jimmi and Addison in a pub, Addison opening up about fears for his job. In the interview room, Jimmi denies Addison had any undue influence on him as FME on the Grant Hill case, but when they ask about his outside-work meetings with Addison he refuses to comment, even if Rob wants to arrest him.

In another flashback we see Addison tell Jimmi how worries about the reinvestigation of Grant Hill’s death have caused him to drink excessively to handle his stress. Following Jimmi’s interview, Rob and Joyce try to make sense of his lack of comment.

Later, Addison arrives for his interview, and re-affirms that the original investigation was right to focus on Charlotte Hill, dismissing Valerie and Grants druggy associates as serious suspects. However, he is rattled when Rob reveals he knows Grant’s dad wasn’t his biological father. The tough questions continue as Rob presses an increasingly irritable Addison about his history of violence in the military and an assault on his father.

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
