EastEnders bosses have denied that Danny Dyer is facing a ‘dressing down’ after hitting back at homophobic remarks on Twitter.
The Sun On Sunday reports that Dyer, who plays new Queen Vic pub landlord Mick Carter, is facing a dressing down after describing some of the people who had sent him tweets about Friday’s episode as ‘homophobic pricks’.
However, a spokesperson for the BBC One soap told Digital Spy there is no truth in the reports.
During Friday’s episode, watched by nearly 8 million viewers, Mick comforted his son Johnny (Sam Strike) who came out as gay. Although the scene evoked a number of ignorant comments, the episode was largely praised on Twitter for the emotional father-son scene.
