Emma Willis has revealed she helped her husband Matt prepare for his EastEnders role by pretending to be Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).
The McBusted singer will shortly appear in the soap as Stacey Branning’s (Lacey Turner) boyfriend Luke.
Luke is seen for the first time when Kat embarks on a mission to track her cousin down, after catching a glimpse of her on a busy London Street.
Emma discussed her husband’s latest role with soap expert Sharon Marshall – who also writes for EastEnders – on This Morning earlier today:
Sharon said: “Stacey Slater is back this week – I can’t tell you when or where or how… but I can tell you she’s going to be dating Matt Willis!”
Emma revealed: “It’s very exciting! I had to read the scripts with him to help him prepare… I was Kat, so I did my best Kat accent when I did it! I loved it. It was amazing.”
Emma added: “He loved it. He’s finished filming now. He really enjoyed it… and I’m yet to find out if they kiss or not… I always ask him if he has to kiss people in things and he always says ‘no’, and then I watch it with him and then he kissed them!”
Holly asked: “So Sharon, does he kiss anyone?”
Sharon replied: “I’m not dobbing anyone in!”
Next month sees This Morning change its familiar male-female hosting set up when Christine Bleakley teams up with Holly Willoughby on the award-winning daytime show. Bleakley will be filling in for Holly’s usual co-host Phillip Schofield who is about to film a new series of ITV’s Mr and Mrs.
EastEnders airs Monday (8.00pm), Tuesday (7.30pm), Thursday (7.30pm) and Friday (8.00pm) on BBC One. This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
