TV Choice has addressed reports that Danny Dyer ‘manhandled’ Mary Berry at its awards ceremony on Monday night.

According to a report in The Mirror, the EastEnders star ‘grabbed the Bake Off judge by the neck’ before leaning in for a kiss.

The story has since been picked up by other publications, however, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jon Peake has taken to Twitter to play down the reports, claiming that the veteran food writer took Dyer’s behaviour in ‘good humour’.

“Contrary to reports @MrDDyer did not ‘manhandle’ Mary Berry. She took it all in good humour. No damage done! Glad everyone had a good time.” – Peake

The incident was said to have occurred as Dyer joined other cast members from the hit soap on stage to collect their award for Best Soap.

EastEnders won four awards in total at the ceremony with Dyer also picking up the gong for Best Soap Actor for his role of Mick Carter, and Lindsey Coulson winning the award for Best Soap Actress for her portrayal of Carol Jackson.
