Channel 5 is to screen the latest additions to popular television franchises NCIS and CSI.

Channel 5 is a prime home for the two new series that build on the success of the franchise. The channel has also acquired future seasons of NCIS, the most-watched TV drama in the world. – Channel 5

NCIS: New Orleans, starring Scott Bakula, recently debuted with 17.2 million viewers in the states, making it the most-watched new series during premiere week. CSI: Cyber, starring Patricia Arquette and James Van Der Beek, is set to launch in the US next year. Both will premiere to the Channel 5 UK audience in 2015.

CSI and NCIS are record breaking franchises, it’s great to be bringing the next instalments of both shows to Channel 5. Our viewers will love Patricia Arquette’s show stealing performance in CSI:Cyber and the fantastic ensemble cast lead by Scott Bakula in NCIS: New Orleans” – Channel 5’s Head of Acquisitions, Katie Keenan

CSI: Cyber stars Arquette as Avery Ryan, a cyber-psychologist who tracks crimes that start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world. Inspired by the real life cyber-psychologist Mary Aiken, Special Agent Ryan knows first-hand how today’s technology allows people to hide in the shadows of the internet and commit serious crimes of global proportions.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS is a drama about the local field office that investigates criminal cases affecting military personnel in The Big Easy, a city known for its music, entertainment and decadence. Leading the team is Special Agent Dwayne Pride, aka “King,” (Bakula) a native of New Orleans who is driven by his need to do what is right. Working with Pride is Special Agent Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black), who plays hard but works harder, and Special Agent Meredith “Merri” Brody (Zoe McLellan), a charismatic and tough interrogator who transferred from the Great Lakes office in search of a fresh start. This colorful city that harbors a dark side is a magnet for service personnel on leave, and when overindulgence is followed by trouble, Pride’s team is at its best.

“It’s an incredibly special year to have two spinoffs of the world’s most popular television franchises. Both CSI and NCIS are pillars of the Channel 5 schedule and this deal gives loyal viewers access to the latest versions of these immensely popular programs.” – Stephen Tague, Senior Vice President, Europe for CBS Studios International.
