STV Edinburgh has launched with its new evening programme, The Fountainbridge Show.
The residents of Scotland’s capital city now have a new local television station. STV Edinburgh will broadcast programmes specifically for Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. It will also rely on the archives of the national STV.
STV Edinburgh went on air Monday evening at 7.00pm with The Fountainbridge Show. Live from capital, the topical magazine programme will feature a mix of news stories, interviews, live performances and cooking. It’s hosted by Ewen Cameron and Hayley Matthews.
STV has revealed that around 166,000 tuned in across launch night. A peak of 48,000 viewers tuned into the Fountainbridge Show. STV Edinburgh was also streamed live 2,000 times on the STV Player.
STV Edinburgh follows a similar schedule to that of STV Glasgow, which launched last year. This includes news updates throughout the day and evening, repeats of STV classics and a live topical magazine programme.
