After Les was able to immerse himself back into family life, him and his son became members of the local football club. Les became the volunteer manager and Suzanne and Katherine ran the tuck shop to raise money for the club. More bad news arrived in 2003 when sadly one of the mothers of the boys at the football club passed away leaving six children behind. Suzanne kindly took in the six children and cared for them as if they were her own. Her generosity didn’t stop there. Suzanne fundraises for her local hospice and takes part in the yearly ‘Memory Walk’ to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. She has also traveled to Kenya to help families there.
Also on the first show of the series two rugby fans who devote their time to raising money for local children’s charities in Bristol get a wonderful surprise as they meet England rugby hero Ben Cohen and get the chance to meet the England Rugby team. Surprise Surprise originally ran on ITV, produced by London Weekend Television, from 1984 through to 2001 with warbler Cilla Black as host.
