Professional boxing championships to air on London Live

London Live

London Live, the capital’s TV channel, proudly announces that it has acquired the rights to broadcast live professional boxing championships in prime time on Friday and Saturday night schedules from October 2nd onwards.

London Live Fight Night will include ten, two hour, monthly live championship professional boxing events, in a one year partnership with Hellraiser Boxing Promotions. Each show will be available via catch-up service for 28 days.

“London Live is committed to delivering top quality entertainment to our growing number of viewers, whilst giving a platform to the young people of London. The London Live Fight Night series will give the capital’s best young boxers an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent in peak time schedules. We are looking forward to working with Mickey Helliet, who I know share our passion for bringing opportunities to London’s young people.” – Lucy Myers, Programme Director for London Live

In addition to the live show, viewers will also be able watch additional content such as exclusive interviews and behind the scenes action with a special highlights show, and through London Live’s social media channels in the lead up and post-fight.

The agreement will bring live access to one of the UK’s fastest growing boxing stables Hellraiser Boxing Promotions and bring invaluable exposure to many of the capital’s elite, up and coming prospects and champions. Many fighters have risen through the ranks by fighting in these events and now viewers will be able to see both present champions and some of the capitals best prospects develop on their journey towards championship boxing.

“This deal provides an outstanding opportunity to London’s next generation of boxers. The deal with London Live will enable us to make some great fights, the rewards and exposure that come with performing on live televised events are well known and so will lead to opportunities for many of London’s young fighters. I see this very much as a continuation of the London 2012 Olympic legacy. Boxing constitutes a vital cornerstone in the lives of a huge number of young Londoners and this fantastic arrangement is bound to have a significant impact on the London pro boxing scene; it will lead to countless opportunities for ambitious young fighters.” – Mickey Helliet, Hellraiser Boxing promoter

London Live Fight Night will be fronted by sports broadcasters, Sophia De Stephano and sports commentator and presenter Andy Clarke. The series begins with a two hour live broadcast on London Live at 8pm on Friday October 2nd and will feature a championship contest to be announced shortly as the main event.
