Ricky Norwood is leaving the EastEnders – a decision that is believed to have rested with show bosses who are said to no longer require his character Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb in the serial.
Digital Spy reports that Norwood will film his final scenes in the next few weeks and that his exit storyline has not been disclosed by the beeb. His departure is, it has been noted, unconnected to his inappropriate-behaviour related suspension from the soap last year.
Norwood made his first appearance as ‘Fatboy’ in January 2010 and was set for a limited stint in the soap, having been cast primarily in the first series of its internet-based spin-off E20. However, he was made a regular in the main show after proving popular.
Fatboy’s storylines have revolved around him being unlucky-in-love.
