Trace Sports to screen exclusive documentaries about Sporting Celebrities

Across next month Trace Sports will air a selection of new programming which celebrates sporting celebrities ranging from Michael Phelps (pictured) to Mark Cavendish.

The channel is to offer a 15 minute daily news round-up of all the latest sporting stories from the Olympics running from July 26th through to the 13th of August. The channel promise Check the latest news, updates and revelations from behind the scenes at The London Olympic Games in Sporty News: London Olympics Special.

“Find out the latest gossip from the Olympic Village and your favourite Olympic medalists. Don’t miss your daily 15 minute hit!” the press office say.

Up Close With… is a 25 episode series running for 26 minutes each where high profile sports celebrities share their private life and open up to reveal who they really are. Guests include Primoz Kozmus, Valentina Vezzali, Filip Jicha, Heather Fell, Ole Bischof, Caroline Wozniacki, Caroline Buchanan, Xavier Barachet, Boris Diaw and many more.

In a special edition of Players Lives, the channel meets up with Michael Phelps. The documentary gets close-up and personal with one of the most amazing aquatic creatures of his generation. The American icon has already won 14 Olympic gold medals. And is a real life story of one of history’s greatest sporting comebacks. In another episodes of Players Lives the series turns to basketball.

The sport is set to become a big hit in The UK this summer, and Trace is bringing more Players Lives Specials to air which look back at the careers of the most famous basketball players of all time, the champion of champions Michael Jordan. There’s also a survey on the most famous sporting couples.

Trace turns to pedal power as they meet the fasted man on two wheels, Mark Cavendish, prepare for the Olympics in his own edition of Entourage. A further three episodes looks at Sanya Richards, Cappie Pondexter and Ian Mahinmi.

Body and Soul is a thirteen minute twelve part series that delves into the health, fitness and eating regimen of various sports celebrities as we follow them during their training sessions. Sporting stars such as Jes­sica Ennis, Usain Bolt, Kelly Holmes, Rebecca Adlington, Andy Turner and Maureen Nisima are to take part in the series.

In an eight-part programme stars of sport such as Alexis Ajinca, Mamedy Doucara, Sophie de Turkheim and Stephan Lafouge talk about their loves in My Passions. The show which lets you in on the world of their collections of cars, watches, their favourite brands, their shopping trips, their geeky gadgets, their guilty pleasures…

Fighting Spirit is a series which aims to discover how athletes achieve excellence and what decisive factor can make them win or lose a game? Discover the winners’ recipe for success over thirteen episodes starring Marcin Dolega, Maja Wozwowsjecka, Sarah Oura­moune, Oscars Pistorius, Lucie Décosse and Janne Friedrich Meyer to name only a few.

In six new episodes of Untold Stories Trace Sprorts takes a look at the not-so-famous faces of sport. They may not be as well-known or earn as much as some of their counterparts, but they have amazing and inspiring sports stories to tell.
