Gary Mavers is to star in rural saga Emmerdale next month as he takes over the role of Gordon Livesy, father of Aaron (Danny Miller).
Gordon’s return comes at a strained time for Aaron and ex-wife Chas (Lucy Pargeter) who have been battling their demons in recent months – Chas believes she is being stalked by someone in the village while Aaron is behind bars after being accused of shooting former lover Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
Emmerdale Series Producer Kate Oates, who is departing the saga in the coming weeks to, in a few months, take up the Producer role on Coronation Street, previously hinted at a ‘blast from the past’ for Aaron and Chas to Radio Times, further noting
“What we’ll see over the next few weeks is the culmination of years of stress taking their toll on Chas. And she’s hoping that what eventually happens might represent some light at the end of the tunnel, The big issue will be how Chas and Aaron respond to what’s happening. There will be some twists and turns and – as always in soapland – nothing is as it seems.” – Kate Oates
More details about Gordon’s arrival will be revealed in the coming weeks. The role was previously played by Gerard Fletcher, with the character appearing on a recurring basis between 2003-2008.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.00pm on ITV/STV/UTV with an additional episode at 8.00pm on Thursdays.
