Carol Kirkwood, BBC

Carol Kirkwood is the sixth celebrity to depart the dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing 2015. The BBC weather presenter faced Kellie Bright in the dreaded dance off.

“Oh my goodness, it has just been the most wonderful experience ever. I will never forget this as long as I live. A huge thank you to everybody from the runners to the make-up, hair, wardrobe, the lovely judges and all your encouragement, the fabulous contestants, the crew but more than that to Pasha. He’s just wonderful. He’s got the patience of a saint, the best teacher in the world, a gentleman and a gentle man so thank you.” –

The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dreaded dance off.  This week Kirkwood and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev went up against EastEnders Actress Kellie Bright and her professional partner Kevin Clifton. The show saw Kevin’s take his first ever in the dance off on Strictly since his debut on the series in 2013.

Both couples performed their routines again; Carol and Pasha did their American Smooth to ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman’ by Shania Twain and Kellie and Kevin performed their Waltz to ‘Love Ain’t Here Anymore’ by Take That in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

Sunday’s Results Show also featured a performance from Seal who was joined on the dance floor by professional dancers Joanne Clifton and Giovanni Pernice. There was also a special Remembrance Sunday performance, as the professional dancers performed a nostalgic routine to ‘In the Mood’ – a classic 1940s song by the Andrews Sisters.

Sir Bruce Forsyth will return to the BBC ballroom alongside Tess Daly on Friday 13th November for the Strictly Come Dancing Children in Need Special. This year Call the Midwife will get a glittering Strictly makeover as four of its stars attempt to impress the judges. BBC Children in Need is on BBC One from 7.30pm on Friday.

“BBC Children in Need is a charity very close to my heart.  I have seen first-hand how money raised makes a difference so am calling on people across the UK get fundraising to help make this Appeal the best yet. Don’t forget to tune in on Friday 13 November!” – Long term BBC Children in Need supporter Peter Andre

The remaining nine couples will return to the main competition once more next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 14th November at 6.50pm and the results show on Sunday 15th November at 7.20pm on BBC One.
