Pick of the Plots: Monday January 9th

SoapWorld takes a look at the goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Michelle is taken aback when she questions Robert who admits he has feelings for her. Later, Michelle has a sudden onset of pain and Leanne insists on taking her to the hospital to be checked out. At the hospital, Steve and Michelle await the results of her scan…

Eva quietly brims with contempt for Toyah who’s busy preparing for the joint baby shower. Later, with the celebrations underway at the pub, Eva confronts Toyah in the ladies’. Toyah begs Eva not to tell Leanne about her relationship with Peter but Eva denies her this peace of mind. Meanwhile, Aidan’s dismayed to learn that the Barlows have a strong case re Underworld. Aidan confides in Eva who, in her outrage, confronts Peter.

Elsewhere, Zeedan thanks Alya for encouraging Rana to be honest with him; cracks are showing in Sinead and Chesney’s relationship and Sinead knocks back wine with disastrous consequences; someone lurks in the garage, ready to put a plan into action..

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Jack clashes with Glenda when the coroner sheds some more light on the deaths of Ronnie and Roxy.

Mick is struggling to raise the money Elaine and Linda need and resorts to desperate lengths. At the shop, Mick comes to a worrying realisation after a conversation with Denise.

Carmel holds a surprise baby shower for Denise but, unenthused, Denise calls an early halt to the celebrations. Shirley is concerned about her friend for whom the surprises continue when Libby arrives and reveals she’s staying for the birth. Later, Mick tells Shirley that Buster had an affair and he thinks it might have been with Denise.

Elsewhere, Louise is wound up by a boy from school, Keegan, and her and Bex discuss Bex’s future; Phil returns home from hospital.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Zak and Lisa are worried about Kyle, who seems withdrawn, however Cain is unmoved to Lisa’s suggestion that he needs Kerry around. Later, Cain reacts badly to a stubborn Kyle, leaving him and the child shocked. The penny soon drops for Zak and Lisa regarding Kyle’s demeanour and before long Cain makes a decision…

It is Charity’s surprise birthday party and Chas and Rebecca do up the pub in anticipation. Chas is excited at the thought of embarrassing Charity but when it comes to party time, the pub is virtually empty. Will the big night be a flop?

Elsewhere, Frank steps in when he thinks that the guy Megan crashed into could be on the make, Cain gives Chrissie an ultimatum over her share in the garage.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Adam’s loyalty is tested when he finds out that Jesse slept with Darcy. After the police find some incriminating evidence against Jesse, he’s arrested for Celine’s disappearance.

It’s Ste’s birthday and he wants to see his kids. Meanwhile, Prince and Hunter are out for revenge when Amy bans them from The Bean. When Leah and Amy get into a playful food fight with Ste’s birthday cake, Prince and Hunter record them. Later, Amy is stunned when John Paul shows her the viral video of her throwing cake in Leah’s face, which makes Amy look like she’s hurting Leah. 

Elsewhere, Lily immediately catches the eye of another classmate on her first day of school. However, she runs out of class upset. Prince finds her in The Folly and the teens strike up a bond.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
