Pick of the Plots: Friday March 31st

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Friday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Jenny and Sally are interviewed for a local radio station. Sally shares her experience with cancer as Tim and Rosie listen with pride. Later, Sally is horrified when she takes a call from the hospital and is told her cancer is back. She’s even more disturbed when it transpires that the call was a prank. Meanwhile, Sophie informs Kevin of Rosie’s intentions to return to glamour modelling to help him avoid bankruptcy. Furious, will Kevin be able to talk her out of it?

Roy’s puzzled when Cathy mentions the play she saw with Brian last night. Roy tackles Brian’s deception and vows he has no objection to him and Cathy spending time together as friends. Brian informs Cathy that Roy’s given his blessing to their friendship, but were they both hoping for more?

Elsewhere, Peter continues to plead his innocence to Toyah; Aidan’s annoyed to find the factory girls helping Jenny with wedding dress ideas on company time; and Fiz tells Tyrone she’s going to take a night school course in massage therapy.

Coronation Street, Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.

With residents still reeling from recent events, it’s a time for family and friends to pull together – but who will stand by their loved ones? And can the past be forgotten?

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

When Chas hears Sandra’s very ill after an accident on holiday, she breaks the news to Liv, agreeing to accompany the youngster overseas to visit her mum.

Elsewhere, Tracy decides to break-up her writing partnership with Pearl; will Arthur think Ashley’s illness is his fault?

Emmerdale, Friday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ste is telling Tony and Diane what he remembers when DS Armstrong and several police officers arrive. Meanwhile, Leah and Lucas have run away from the Lomax’s and Leela and Zack team up to find them. Having lost a family member when Lisa went missing, Zack knows how to comfort an upset Leah.

Mercedes and Scott are caught red handed when they go to meet the biddeer on one of James’ wigs, only to find out it’s James himself! However, embarrassed James lets them off the hook when he finds out they’ve got his audition tapes.

Later, Harry asks James to help Ste, and Armstrong is frustrated when James arrives at the station but can he help Ste?

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Ayesha’s excited to finally introduce Lance Corporal Lee to Emma, and sings his praises. But she soon notices something isn’t right with her brother. Later, Ayesha is furious with Karl when he won’t engage, prompting him to admit the truth – he’s split from his girlfriend.  

Mrs Tembe welcomes Ruhma for dinner, and the two enjoy a lovely meal. Mrs Tembe probes for relationship advice in a round-about way to Ruhma’s amusement. Finally, Mrs Tembe blurts out she’s seeing someone, and Ruhma is genuinely pleased for her. Once started, Mrs Tembe can’t stop bubbling about JJ, but asks Ruhma to keep her secret at work.

Elsewhere, when a restaurant is petrol bombed, owner Andreas blames neighbour Billy; but Billy’s adamant he was trying to save Andreas. When son Theo arrives, Jimmi realises something doesn’t add up – will he crack the case and stop the feud?

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
