Walford will be welcoming back a familiar face later this year when Dean Gaffney reprises his role as Robbie Jackson.

Viewers last saw Robbie in 2015 when he visited his family with his son, Sami, revealing he’d separated from his partner, Nita. The storyline tied in with Lindsey Coulson’s decision to leave her role of Jackson matriarch Carol. After living in India for a number of years, Robbie made the decision to start afresh in Milton Keynes. Viewers will have to wait and see what brings him back home to the Square this time.

“I’m really happy to be back. I’m so lucky to be given the chance to work again with such a talented group of people. A big thank you to Sean and the team. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.” – Dean Gaffney

Robbie arrived as part of the Jackson family in 1993, remaining a regular character for a decade. Over that time he featured in many memorable plots from troublesome teenager to various moments of failed romance, he is possibly best remembered for introducing viewers to the long running lovable Belgian Tervuren dog he named Wellard.

Robbie departed Walford in 2003 when he moved away to India to live with his girlfriend Nita whom he later had a child with. As well as in 2015 Dean made brief returns to the soap in 2004 and 2010 for the weddings of Robbie’s sisters Sonia and Bianca respectively.

“I’m thrilled to welcome back Dean as Robbie Jackson, one of EastEnders’ most loved and most popular characters. Bridge Street Market has never quite been the same without Robbie policing it in his hi-viz jacket.

“Dean brings a wonderful warmth and fun to his portrayal of Robbie and I’m sure that audiences will take him to their hearts again, just as they have always done.”  – Sean O’Connor, Executive Producer

Dean will appear on screen as Robbie in the coming weeks the beeb note.
