Hollyoaks has released a trailer featuring specially shot footage to promote why the Channel 4 saga should win big at The British Soap Awards.

The specially recorded promotion footage is mixed with episode content to support the vote Hollyoaks 2017 campaign. The trailer showcases our six original long-listed Best Actor and Actress nominees in a running montage, set amongst Hollyoaks clips past and present, while Rory Douglas Speed who stars as Joel in the series tells viewers why they should #ChooseHollyoaks in a Trainspotting movie style.

Jamie Lomas  who plays Warren, Gregory Finnegan who appears as James and Anna Passey who portrays Sienna have all been short-listed in the Best Actor and Actress categories at the British Soap Awards, which broadcasts live on Saturday 3rd June on ITV in England and Wales, STV in Scotland and UTV in Northern Ireland.

The promo, which can be viewed above, brings viewers several reasons why they should vote for the North West based production including: ‘sitting on your couch for 22 and a half minutes of addictive telly that you just can’t switch over‘, ‘loving a family of total wronguns’, ‘burning mazes, weddings in The Folly’, ‘ naming your daughter Myra Pocahontas Regina Madonna Savage McQueen’ as well as more serious ones such as ‘testing your physical limits and testing for HIV’, ‘star-gazing with your lost love’ and ‘to be kind, to yourself and to others’ and of course ‘tracksuits, leopard print and weekends on catch-up wearing both together while shoving Banana Bongos into your mouth.’

Phillip Schofield will oversee the soap gong show live on ITV
