Pick of the Plots: Wednesday May 17th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Wednesday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Nick is furious when he finds out Leanne’s been fighting Peter’s corner. As the Platts and Battersbys gather at the Bistro for Oliver’s naming ceremony, David finds Nick wallowing in self-pity and tries to talk some sense into him. Meanwhile, Liz is furious that she hasn’t received an invite and drags a reluctant Steve to the Bistro to make her feelings known. With everyone at each other’s throats and Nick a no show will the naming ceremony go ahead? 

Bethany hides her disappointment when Nathan suggests they throw another party for his friends, When Bethany then receives a text from Sarah inviting her to a wedding fair, she begs Nathan to let her go, suggesting they could postpone the party.

Elsewhere, Adam confides in Rosie that he reckons it was Daniel who pushed Ken; Mary returns from the Lakes with an injured Norris who’s expecting Mary to look after him; and Faye tells Anna she’s going to stay with Izzy.

Coronation Street, Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Sick of them tormenting him, Jacob trashes Josh and Jamie’s bikes. When it looks as though Jacob might incur a beating for the incident, Dan steps in and takes responsibility for the vandalism. Cornered by the boys, he agrees to stump up for the damage the next day but he secretly has other plans.

Elsewhere, Victoria needs help for the vegan market; Megan issues Jai with an ultimatum; Marlon spots warmth between Carly and Matt.

Emmerdale, Wednesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ellie is pushing for Mac to get his second opinion (regarding power of attorney) however, Marnie puts on an emotional performances as she claims he’s already had it and must have forgotten. Everyone is alarmed when Mac blacks out.

Leela is jealous when she sees Zack with Cleo and drags him into the toilets at The Bean. Meanwhile, Cindy is cheesed off when her speech goes a bit pete-tong during a press launch at The Bean. However, when she hears Zack and Leela’s frisky shenanigans in the toilets she utilises the opportunity to get one over on Simone.

Elsewhere, Warren enlists Cleo to help Joel take his mind off ‘whatever’ is getting him down. Joel chooses heroin over calling Cleo back. Later, Joel gives Cleo the brush off.

Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Mrs Tembe’s plans to share her diagnosis with JJ are turned upside down when she walks into a dinner party (with Heston and Ruhma) that had slipped her mind. Ruhma praises JJ’s relationship with Mrs Tembe but things become fraught between the couple when Mrs Tembe reacts oddly to a compliment and suggests they talk alone.

The atmosphere further sours when Mrs Tembe unintentionally insults Ruhma, then bluntly responds to Ruhma’s musings that things might be moving too fast between her and JJ. Heston and Ruhma manage to disband from the awkward gathering shortly after Zara turns up. Mrs Tembe opens up to Zara before finally facing JJ. She breaks down in relief when JJ assures her she is his only current sexual partner, when she suggests they have more tests done.

Elsewhere, Jimmi is alone with Megan as he works late. After some awkward encounters, which Megan enjoys at his expense, he’s left with a reason to feel positive.

Doctors, Wednesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
