Sky and NBCUniversal extend partnership.

Sky has reaffirmed its long-standing partnership with NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies. In an extensive multi-year agreement announced this week the deal will see UK viewers continue to see NBCUniversal channels on the service including the Universal Channel, Syfy and E! Entertainment and Movies 24 In addition, their all-reality service, hayu, will launch in 2018 on NOW TV, Sky’s streaming subscription service in the UK.

The agreement also includes content for Sky Cinema bringing to screens first-run movies like the Jurassic, Despicable Me/Minions and Fast & Furious franchises. Additionally, it covers a range of critically acclaimed and award-winning films from Working Title and Focus Features alongside numerous titles from NBCUniversal’s iconic, premium film library. These are accompanied by next generation rights to ensure, Sky state, that viewers are able to access content how, when and wherever they wish – as subscribers, or to buy or rent the latest cinema releases from the Sky Store.
