The New European will be changing to a tabloid format the publisher behind the paper has announced today.
“We’ve asked our subscribers and they’ve told us it’s not the size of the paper that matters but the fresh alternative to old established media. The New European will be smaller in size, bigger in pages and every bit as brilliant as it is today. Plus, you won’t be knocking elbows with people on the bus or train when you read it.” – Matt Kelly, Editor, The New European
Archant, the company behind The New European, has today announced the publication is to move over to a tabloid newspaper format. Currently printed in a European-style ‘Berliner’ format, the move will take effect from July 13th.
The title will also change its publication date to Thursday – it will be a bigger 64-page paper, printed by Archant in Norfolk. The price will stay the same across Europe.
The New European has a loyal valuable audience who have enjoyed content from high-profile figures. Highlights from the last year include appointing Alastair Campbell as Editor-at-large (as well as securing the exclusive serialisation rights to the latest volume of Alastair’s diaries) and appointing Michael White as Election Editor and Iain Dale as Election Diarist. Stellar contributors have included exclusives from Tony Blair, Bonnie Greer and Hardeep Singh Kohli.
The paper has also won multiple awards since its launch including the Chairman’s Award at this year’s Press Awards and Launch of the year at the British Media Awards. The New European is published nationwide every Friday and can be ordered online here.
