A Look Back: Australia win the IRB Edinburgh 7s (28th & 29th May)

Looking back to last weekend in the Sporting world, Australia were the Champions of the IRB Edinburgh 7s. The tournament held at Murrayfield was the last competition of this season’s series which has seen 7s events held all the way round the world including Adelaide and Hong Kong.

In the overall standings New Zealand were the top dogs after some fantastic performances through the International 7s circuits.  This season has also seen though, the emergence of some of the so called ‘minnows’ in the sport.  Countries such as Russia, Spain, Portugal are always in the hunt for silverware as there are 4 finals on Sunday evenings.

Last weekend though Australia came from 21-0 down to unbelievably triumph against South Africa right at the death.   Below is audio from TD1 Radio coverage with Stuart Cameron reporting from Murrayfield at the end of the Cup final.  ATV Today’s Callum Patterson is in the studio rounding up all the scores.
