EastEnders bosses have unveiled an addition to the soap’s cast in the form of fire-fighter Fiona ‘Tosh’ Mackintosh. Billed as “strong, feisty and bright”, Tosh is the former girlfriend of Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-white) who arrives in Walford looking to repair their relationship. Coronation Street saw off competition from EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Holby City to take home the award for best soap at last night’s Broadcast awards. Hayley Tamaddon has revealed she was “gobsmacked” when Coronation Street bosses extended her contract. The actress made her debut in the soap as Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) college friend Andrea in December. The role was initially for six months, however Tamaddon was recently offered a longer contract allowing Andrea to remain a presence in Weatherfield for the foreseeable future. Appearing on ITV’s This Morning earlier today, Tamaddon discussed the extension and how
