BBC sign new deal to screen London Marathon until 2018
BBC Sport will continue to produce the annual coverage of the run.

The BBC and the Virgin London Marathon have agreed a new deal which will see the event continue on the BBC until 2018.
The deal announced today gives the BBC exclusive broadcast rights in the UK across all platforms including TV, radio, internet, mobile and iPlayer. Since the first race back in 1981, the BBC has been the main broadcaster for the annual London Marathon.
The announcement comes ahead of this year’s London Marathon which takes place this Sunday. Coverage begins at 8.30am on BBC One and coverage on BBC Radio 5 Live. BBC Sport presenter Sue Barker will be leading the television coverage.
Virgin London Marathon have added that they are “delighted” with the new agreement.
