Participation in hockey has followed suit, following the success of the national teams, with a growth in participation in 2012.

The EuroHockey Nations Championship will be held in Belgium from 17 to 25 August, with both the male and female competitions featuring eight teams. England, Ireland and Scotland will compete in the Women’s Championships, while England and Ireland will compete in the Men’s Championships.
