A new extended trailer for The CW’s forthcoming drama Beauty and the Beast has been released.

The drama will be a loose reworking of the 1980s CBS television series rather than the 1990s Disney movie which modern audiences may be more familiar with. ABC were developing their own Beauty and the Beast series but at the moment it appears as though the broadcaster isn’t moving ahead with its version.

Beauty and the Beast will air on Thursday evenings on The CW from the Autumn and it’s being paired up with The Vampire Diaries which is returning for a fourth season.

The drama stars Kristin Kreuk, Jan Ryan, Max Brown, Austin Basis and Nicole Gale Anderson
