All My Children{jcomments on}Four more returns have been announced for ABC soap All My Children ahead of its television finale in September.

The soap has already announced several returns such as Carol Burnett, Melissa Claire Egan, Kate Collins, Jennifer Bassey, Josh Duhamel and Eva LaRue. Now four more names can be added to that ever-growing list including an original cast member.

Julia Barr, David Canary, Ray MacDonald and Lee Meriwether will also reprise their roles on All My Children. David Canary retired from the ABC soap last year having played the dual roles of Adam and Stuart. He joined the cast in 1983 in the role of Adam Chandler and the next year also took on the role of twin Stuart Chandler. Julia Barr played Brooke English between 1976 and 1980 and again between 1982 and 2006. The actress reprised her role in 2010 for AMC‘s 40th anniversary and later in the year for a three month stint.

Ray MacDonald, an original cast member on the soap, played Joe Martin from its launch in 1970 until 2010. The actor decided to bow out of AMC following its relocation from New York to Los Angeles but was present during the soaps 40th anniversary celebrations. In 2005 the actor received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy’s. Lee Meriwether joined the cast in 1996 as Ruth Martin following the retirement of actress Mary Flickett. She bowed out herself in 1999 but has appeared several times since most recently in March of this year.

The on-screen dates for the four returns are not known but will likely be in August or early September. Few details are still known about the soaps forthcoming move to the internet. The ABC press release stated the soap would be in the “same format” it currently is and TV Guide this week hinted actress Susan Lucci would continue in her role of Erica Kane in “some capacity”.
