Good Morning America continues to beat ‘Today’

Published on Jul 13 2012 // Broadcasting, Top Stories

Good Morning America took the win on Monday, beating Today’s debut for Savannah Guthrie.

ABC’s Good Morning America had the most viewers on Monday 9 July and Tuesday 10 July according to early ratings data.

NBC’s Today programme officially unveiled Savannah Guthrie on Monday following a wrath of criticism from fans over the networks treatment of Ann Curry, who was dropped from the show.

Official data for week beginning 2 July shows that Good Morning America won the week, taking the lead in total viewers on Monday, Tuesday and Friday of that week.

2 July had 4.381 million vs. 4.379 million, while the numbers may be a small victory, it is significant as NBC have always had the lead over the years, and quite a significant one.

Overnight figures for 10 July shows ABC increasing the gap further, 4.326million vs. 4.175million
