Glamour model Katie Price’s exit from the jungle in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here last night helped the reality series peak over 10 million again. Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan, decided to quit the series after facing seven bushtucker trials in a row – as voted for by the viewing public. Price decided she couldn’t face any more trials and quit the series. Her exit from the jungle helped I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here peak at over 10 million viewers. An average of 9.5 million watched across the hour but viewing numbers peaked in the first fifteen minutes at 10 million. However, after Price’s exit was shown the final fifteen minutes saw ratings fall to under 9 million viewers. The episode also saw former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin become the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle by the public.
Coronation Street dominated the ratings for the soaps last night with over 10.4 million viewers for the Granada soap’s second episode of the day at 8.30. The episode saw the return of Carla Connor to the cobbles once more in the wake of Tony Gordon’s arrest for the murder of Liam. BBC One soap EastEnders enjoyed 9 million viewers. Over on BBC Two and University Challenge attracted 3.3 million and new sitcom Miranda entertained 2.3 million viewers.
