More Marmite Presenters

More Marmite Presenters

Jeremy Kyle - ITVWe’ve created another list of ‘Marmite’ Presenters – those who divide the British public into two categories…you either love them…or loath them. Which of our selection do you loath?

There are some presenters, such as Fern Britton and Michael Parkinson that the nation take to their hearts and lap up. Then there are some presenters that no matter how hard they try, or not matter how hard they’d like to think they’re popular, the nation just can’t take. We’ve created a new list of “Marmite” presenters which divide public opinion; some viewers love them but most can’t stand them. Which out of our list do you loath and which do you love?

Jeremy Kyle

Host of ITV’s chav “chat-show” The Jeremy Kyle Show in which the host belittles and bullies his guest Kyle ranting at one of his guests - ITVas they pour out their various problems in front of the audience in the studio and several million viewing public. You’ll be hard pushed to forget the name of the show as Kyle reminds his guests frequently of it and also that he is host and what he says is the word of law – in the studio at least. Kyle and his show have been widely criticised by judges, the press and anyone with any level of taste and decency. Kyle comes across as an arrogant bully and he judges his guests and shouts at them little realising without them he would be nothing. Hopefully he and his chav show will soon be axed to the dustbin where it belongs.

Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan is the former editor of The Mirror who resigned in disgrace after it was revealed that photos the paper published of British solders allegedly abusing Iraqi prisoners of war were in fact Piers Morgan as a judge on Britain's Got Talentfaked. Now you’d think, or hope, that after such a mistake Morgan would quietly retire and keep out of the lime light. No such luck as ITV has made him the face of their crappy little channel which says a lot about quality control on ITV these days. He’s on the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent although we doubt anyone will audition as an editor of a newspaper with fake photos to publish, so quite what Morgan is doing on a talent contest is a mystery. He also has his own chat-show where he interviews high quality guests such as Katie Price about their lives….think Parkinson but for chavs. He also has a travel show where he visits far away destinations so we’d like to suggest his next destination….the moon or even better somewhere far, far away like Jupiter. We hear it’s rather crushing at this time of the year but we doubt that even Jupiter could crash a ego the size of Piers!

Ant and Dec

Those “cheeky” Geordies who have managed to work their way up from the outer realms of kiddies tv to presenting shows on ITV via a rather dodgy pop career. To audiences of a certain age they will PJ & Duncan or Ant & Dec, it depends on your ageforever be PJ and Duncan from Byker Grove so it would be unfair of us not to mention this – boys such a start will never be forgotten. It was as these characters that they launched their “pop” career before defecting over to ITV to present Saturday kiddies show CD: UK. Following on from this were Saturday Night Takeaway, I’m Celeb, Gameshow Marathon and Soap Star, Superstar….oh and Britain’s Got Talent. Several of their shows were later caught up in the deception scandal that rocked television but its okay folks because despite being presenters, executive producers and the production company behind the said shows they knew absolutely nothing about the deception, honest!

Nicky Campbell

Currently the presenter of BBC One’s consumer programme Watchdog but when the legendary Anne Robinson returns shortly he’ll be axed. Campbell started to present Watchdog in 2001 and to be honest it’s a surprise he’s survived so long on the series. His interviewing technique, similar to Jeremy Kyle’s, leaves a lot to be desired. Charlie Brooker recently gave a wonderful description of Campbell which we won’t quote here because quite frankly we’d don’t want to be sued. Campbell also hosts some programmes for BBC Radio which is where we hope he stays from now on.
