Ninth Season Of Supernatural Possible

The CW is considering ordering a ninth season of Supernatural.

The 8th season of Supernatural may not even have hit the air yet but The CW is already looking at a possible ninth season according to reports. Supernatural, starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, returns to The CW in October for its 8th season with new showrunner Jeremy Carver taking over from Sara Gamble and talks are already underway for a ninth season.

The CW’s entertainment president Mark Pedowitz is quoted as saying “There’s always conversations that happen. I am a big Supernatural fan – I hope it stays on as long as I’m still here.” Following the end of One Tree Hill in April Supernatural is now The CW’s longest running scripted series on-air having originally launched in 2005 on The WB before the launch of the broadcaster.

I would expect they have to discuss things with Jared and Jensen, as their contracts expire this year. Both guys have said they are willing to stay with the show, though, so I’m hoping this is just a matter of ironing out details.
