Syfy-mediumAnthony Head has been cast in Syfy‘s forthcoming pilot Dominion.

The pilot is based on the 2010 big-screen film Legion which starred Dennis Quaid. Dominion will be set 25 years after the events of Legion after a war between humans and angels. Deadline reports that Anthony Head will play the president of a senate in one of man’s few remaining cities.

Anthony Head will forever be associated with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in which he played Librarian/Watcher Giles. However, Head has had a diverse career with his most recent prominent role being the ruthless Uther Pendragon in BBC‘s Merlin. Head’s other notable appearances include Doctor Who, Manchild, Free Agents and Dancing on the Edge.

Also cast in Dominion is Hollyoaks and Game of Thrones actress Roxanne McKee, The Borgias‘ Luke Allen-Gale and EastEnders‘ Shivani Ghai. They join the previously announced Christopher Egan and Alan Dale.

Egan will be known to American audiences role his role in Kings but to British & Australian viewers he will be familiar for his role in soap Home & Away. Alan Dale will also be familiar to British and Australian viewers for his role in an Aussie soap, Neighbours, but in recent years the New Zealand born actor has clocked up an array of credits on American television. Some of his notable roles include Once Upon A Time, Lost, Hot in Cleveland, The Killing and 24.
