Ahead of his debut in BBC One soap EastEnders Danny Dyer movie Vendetta comes to DVD later this month.
The 36-year-old actor stars in Vendetta with a performance that is already being described as a career-best. Coming to DVD and Blu-ray on the 23rd of December, the film also stars Vincent Regan, Bruce Payne, Roxanne McKee, Nick Nevern, Emma Samms and Ricci Harnett.
Directed by Stephen Reynolds and produced by Jonathan Sothcott the movie is an explosive, all-action revenge film which evolves around the story of a former Special Forces Interrogator who goes AWOL on his return from Afghanistan.
It turns out he’s on a personal mission to avenge the murder of his parents. With the police closing in and his old unit on his trail, he has to evade capture long enough to complete his gruesome crusade.
Dyer will be seen in Albert Square later this month as EastEnders’ latest resident Mick Carter who is to become the new landlord of The Queen Vic pub. It’s his second soap appearance this year having previously popped up in Hollyoaks Later for Channel 4. Last month Danny caused the cast of Emmerdale to frown with indignant expressions when he made ‘disrespectful’ comments about the rural saga.
It’s getting beat in the ratings by a farm… No disrespect, but it’s a soap about a farm and that is smashing [EastEnders] to pieces in the ratings so they’ve brought me in to give it a little injection of something. – Dyer quoted by The Mirror
