Cloppa Castle

Cloppa CastleCloppa Castle is a medieval fort occupied by the Byegones who are under permanent siege from a band of angry rebels known as the Hasbeens.

Network DVD is pleased to release a complete box set of the 1977 puppet series created by Mary Turner and John Read who also played a key role in the creation of other ATV series’ Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. Cloppa Castle is a medieval fort occupied by the Byegones who are under permanent siege from a band of angry rebels known as the Hasbeens.

The Hasbeens are hell-bent upon usurping the throne and laying claim to the oil resources found beneath the castle grounds. Unless it’s teatime, of course, in which case the friendly enemies will partake of a cuppa with their opposite number. This set features the previously-released first and second series of this classic children’s show.

You’ll soon be singing the rockesque theme tune written by Patrick Campbell-Lyons and Frank Weston and performed by Rainbow Cottage… “If you go down to Cloppa Castle, be prepared to stay awhile”…

Special Features

This set contains interviews with John Read, Mary Turner and Judith Shutt.
