Sky One has ordered second seasons of its comedies Stella and The Cafe.
Sky has ordered a second ten-part series of Stella starring Ruth Jones in her first major series since the end of Gavin & Stacey on BBC One. Jones co-created and wrote the comedy for Sky One. ‘I’m over the moon that Sky want more Stella. I’m looking forward to getting back to Pontyberry, even though the place doesn’t exist.’ the actress is quoted as saying by The Sun.
Meanwhile Sky One has also ordered a second series of The Cafe which starred Ralf Little. The series was directed by Little’s former Royle Family co-star Craig Cash. The two shows are due to return on Sky One next year.
The renewals of the two comedies follows Sky One’s renewals, last year, of fellow new shows Trollied, which starred Jane Horrocks, and Mount Pleasant which starred Sally Lindsay.
