The Sun On Sunday goes to the Lemurs

Many may have the view that the axed News of the World was run by animals, but its replacement The Sun on Sunday, appears to have proved a hit with Lemurs at Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire.

Many may have the view that the axed News of the World was run by animals, but its replacement The Sun on Sunday, appears to have proved a hit with Lemurs at Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire.

To the amazement of the zoo keepers and visitors alike, the lemurs have started reading the Sunday edtion which has for the first time seen The Sun newspaper publish an edition every day.

Steve Goodwin, section leader of primates at Paradise said, “The Sun is my favourite newspaper, and I take it everywhere with me. I didn’t expect the lemurs would like it as much as I do! We’ve now started making small copies for them to read, as it’s easier for their little hands. They seem to be big fans of Nicole Scherzinger and go crazy every time she’s in the paper!”

It all began when their keeper Steve, an avid Sun reader, put down his copy of the Sun whilst cleaning out their enclosure. He turned around to see that one of the lemurs had picked it up and started flicking through the pages. Before too long, all of the other lemurs in the group had joined in.

Lemurs come from Madagascar and are a species of pro-simian, separated from monkeys early on in their evolution. So they are very intelligent and have hands just like us. You can see the clever lemurs at Paradise Wildlife Park everyday throughout Easter and beyond.

The Sun on Sunday launched as a replacement to the controversy-ridden News of the World in February this year. Could it be an early April 1st joke? …well Paradise Wildlife Park say most certainly not, the ATV Today team are not so sure… You decide for yourselves.
