Welsh International Football Returns to BBC Cymru Wales Television

From August BBC television in Wales will air highlights of Wales’ home games.

The deal, which will cover two seasons from August this year, means the first international returning to screens will be Wales’s friendly against Bosnia/Herzegovina on Wednesday 15 August, the last warm-up game for Chris Coleman’s side before the World Cup qualifiers begin in September. The first World Cup qualifier to be shown will be the game against Belgium on Friday 7 September.

BBC Cymru Wales is the overhead name for BBC One Wales and BBC 2W. It is not known yet on which channel the highlights will air. BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will continue to broadcast matches along with extensive online coverage.

The Football Association of Wales has said they are ‘looking forward’ to working with BBC Cymru Wales.
