Zoe Boyle has been cast in NBC‘s pilot for the proposed remake of prison drama Bad Girls.
Deadline reports the actress has been cast in the pilot for the remake; she’ll play a nurse who works at the female prison where the series is based. It has also been reported that Rick Gonzalez will appear in the pilot as a gang-member turned correctional officer who works at the prison.
NBC announced it had ordered a pilot for Bad Girls earlier this month; the drama will be based on the British series that ran for eight seasons on ITV1. There have been several attempts to remake Bad Girls with FX and HBO both showing an interest in the project at various stages.
Zoe Boyle’s most recent role was as Lavinia Swire in the second series of Downton Abbey. Lavinia was the ill-fated love interest of Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) who died at the end of the second series from Spanish Flu. The actresses other roles include Grey’s Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, Lewis and Poirot.
