EastEnders star Lacey Turner doesn’t foresee herself as a Strictly Come Dancing contestant.
Over the years the beeb entertainment series has seen many stars of the Walford soap take part – this year proving no exception with Lacey’s co-star Davood Ghadami a part of the line-up. However, the Stacey Fowler actress has no desire to join that list of names.
“I have been asked to go on Strictly but I’m rubbish at dancing and I don’t really have the guts,” she told OK!. “I’d do it if it wasn’t on telly – I just don’t like being on TV!”
Lacey also revealed quite a humble attitude to a gong she recently picked up in an interview with the publication, noting of her best actress win at January’s NTAs:
“I always think there’s someone else it should have gone to but it’s always nice to win. I was glad Emmerdale’s Charlotte Bellamy won at the British Soap Awards this year.
“You start to think people vote for you because they like you and actually there was someone who deserved it more in the category because their work was so good. She should have won – her or Kym [Marsh] as they both had intense storylines recently.”
Memorable EastEnders storylines featuring Lacey’s character include her struggles with bi-polar and the Who Killed Archie? saga.
In other EastEnders news, Danny-Boy Hatchard who played Lee Carter between 2014-2017 has criticised the decision by the writers to have Mick cheat on his wife Linda.
“The whole idea that they wanted to go with with Mick and Linda was that they would never cheat, and it was a really nice thought,” he told Yahoo. “I am going to be biased because I love the family as a whole and they are a big part of who I am, but I think it’s a shame that this happened.”
Lee was written out of the soap by recently-departed boss Sean O’Connor. His storylines included catching chlamydia and battling depression.
