British acting talent Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger will be back on beeb screens next year for Strike – Career of Evil.
The third instalment of the popular Strike series based on J.K. Rowling’s pseudonymous book series will air in late 2018.
Burke will return as Strike, the war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street with Grainger back as his assistant, Robin.
When a dismembered leg is sent to Strike’s office, it sends both Cormoran’s and Robin’s lives into disarray, forcing them to confront ghosts from their pasts. Their partnership reaches breaking point as Robin’s wedding approaches and they disagree about how to ensnare a man who abuses children.
Strike – The Cuckoo’s Calling and Strike – The Silkworm both aired from 26 August to healthy ratings and good critical reception.
The first outing for the adaptions also starred Tara Fitzgerald, Martin Shaw, Amber Anderson and Sian Phillips with the second featuring Monica Dolan, Tim McInnerny and Lia Williams.
Rowling as Robert Galbraith published her first Strike novel in 2013 to great success.
