Strictly Come Dancing has announced who’ll be taking to the floor in this year’s Christmas special.

The show’s annual festive special will be back on Christmas Day with six former Strictly contestants competing to lift the ‘Star Trophy’. The line-up includes; Colin Jackson, Katie Derham, Judy Murray, Robbie Savage, Kimberley Walsh and Jeremy Vine

Colin, who will be partnered with Amy Dowden, says: “I am thrilled to be returning to Strictly for this year’s Christmas Special. Some time has passed since I danced my way to the final, however I’m looking forward to dusting off my dancing shoes and returning once again.”

Katie, who will be dancing with long-time Strictly pro Brendan Cole, says: “Being parachuted onto planet Strictly two years ago was the most joyful, challenging but hilarious and brilliant thing I’ve ever done. I cannot wait to dust off the sequins and get back in the training room.”

Judy, who will be partnered with Neil Jones, says: “I’m thrilled to bits to be part of Strictly’s Christmas Special. I promise to be every bit as bad as before and to enjoy it every bit as much.”

Robbie, who will be performing with Dianne Buswell, says: “I’m delighted to be part of the Strictly Christmas Special. It’s been six years since I was on the show and I am still as bad as I was then! I’m looking forward to getting back on the Strictly dance floor.”

Kimberley, who will be returning to dance again with Pasha Kovalev, says: “I am absolutely thrilled to be getting my dancing shoes on again for the Strictly Christmas special. I loved my time on Strictly so much so it’s going to be wonderful to be back in the Strictly bubble for Christmas!”

Jeremy, who will be reunited with Karen Clifton, says: “Me? Dance again? Yes, yes, YES!!! Now where are those shoes? Let me clean the dust off.”

The pairings will perform a routine which tells the story of ‘what everyone loves about Christmas’ in a bid to be crowned Christmas champs 2017.

Strictly’s regular presenting and judging line-up will oversee proceedings, however the judges scores will have no bearing on the result as who gets to lift the famous Silver Star trophy will be down to the studio audience. There will also be a music performance fit for Christmas Day.

This week the beeb series has been at the centre of controversy following the elmination of Aston Merrygold and his professional partner Janette Manrara who had been tipped by many to win the show.
