The adrenaline fuelled, action-packed show will be filmed later this year to air on ITV in 2019.

Derived from the Japanese game show Sasuke, contenders must negotiate a punishing assault course, without falling off into the water below. Their progression to the semi-final and final depends on either a fast completion time or going the furthest in the quickest time.

No competitor has, to date, reached and defeated the final obstacle – a daunting rope climb dubbed Mount Midoriyama – and thus been crowned ‘Ninja Warrior UK’. Whoever got closest to it is thought of as the series winner.

Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris ‘Kammy’ Kamara oversee proceedings.

“The bravest competitors in the UK meet the toughest course on television once again. I can’t wait to see who wins.” – Asif Zubairy, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV

The fifth series of will see another batch of contestants push themselves to their limits in an attempt to complete the ultimate challenge. The current fourth series has its grand final next weekend, Saturday 9th June at 6.30pm on ITV.

“ITV brings families together to share in the enjoyment of watching big entertainment shows. We’re very proud that Ninja Warrior UK will continue to be part of Saturday night entertainment with all the thrills, spills, laughs and gaffs that have made it the UK’s most popular physical game show.” – Michael Kelpie, Managing Director of Potato
