Richard follows in the high heels of fellow GMTV, Daybreak and Good Morning Britain stalwart Kate Garraway.
Hollyoaks actor Ross Adams earlier today revealed on ITV’s Good Morning Britain that presenter and telly personality Richard Arnold will be filming a cameo for Hollyoaks in Magaluf.
In an interview with the recent British Soap Award winner Ross Adams, it was revealed Richard Arnold will film a cameo tomorrow (Friday 15th June) in Mallorca. Richard will be joining the McQueen’s as they take over Magaluf.
The cast, including Chelsee Healey, Amy Conachan, Annie Wallace, Diane Langton and David Tag, flew out to Magaluf on Tuesday. They were pictured at the airport with three mystery additional cast members, yet to be revealed.
Richard will be playing himself on the show and joked with GMB viewers:
“I’ve been sent the script which involves me being by a swimming pool. Just what I need after watching Love Island this week, to be half naked with a load of people half my age”.
Kate Garraway on the Hollyoaks set in August last year.
Richard joins a plethora of stars that have appeared in Hollyoaks cameos over the years, including Alan Carr, Nick Grimshaw, and fellow Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway. Kate said of her time on the soap that it had been “a really good experience, great fun”.
Garraway was seen last year on Hollyoaks as herself reporting on the court case following the murder of Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) who was killed on her wedding day. More recently Alan Carr popped up in a May edition as the comedian and presenter played a nosy dog walker, who with his Irish Setters, stopped to listen to an angry Yazz confront Tony and Diane about their complaint against Misbah.
In January 2017 Richard Arnold celebrated two decades on the morning sofas of ITV, first with GMTV, then Daybreak and since 2014 a revived Good Morning Britain. Arnold has been a regular since 1997, apart from a two-year gap between 2010 and 2012 when the broadcaster launched the dismal Daybreak. The failing show was soon revamped and Richard restored to entertainment reporter and general morning darling.
