Faye Tozer and Danny John-Jules are the second and third celebrities confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2018.
Danny John-Jules was revealed as a SCD 2018 contestant on BBC One’s The One Show.
Their participation was revealed this evening (Monday 13th August) on The One Show on BBC One.
Faye is best known as one fifth of the UK’s most successful mixed-sex pop group of all time, Steps. They burst onto the scene in 1997 and went on to sell more than 20 million records in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the U.S before disbanding in 2001. Faye later teamed up with Russell Watson gaining a Top 10 hit with ‘Someone Like You’.
She has also had TV presenting roles including the Pepsi Chart Show, SMTV, the Disney Channel’s Kid’s awards, Entertainment Today and the BBC Kids Proms in the Park. She moved into musical theatre in 2004 with a tour of Lloyd Webber’s one-woman musical Tell Me on a Sunday and later gained more stage roles. In 2011 a reunion of Steps was documented with hit Sky Living TV shows ‘Steps – The Reunion’ and ‘On the Road again’ followed by a 22-date sell out Arena tour and another No.1 Album.
“Being on Strictly is literally a dream come true! It’s everything my 9 year old self ever wanted from showbiz and I’m going to relish every moment!”
Faye Tozer, of STEPS fame, was also revealed on The One Show earlier this evening.
Danny, meanwhile, is a British actor with his best known role being that of Cat in the cult sci-fi sitcom, Red Dwarf. Other notable roles include the policeman Dwayne Myers in the long running BBC hit crime drama, Death In Paradise and Barrington in the BBC comedy Maid Marian And Her Merry Men. He also starred in CBBC children’s spy drama M.I. High as Lenny Bicknall, the caretaker.
“Having spent the last few months on two wheels motorcycling around South America in pink leathers, I’m absolutely delighted to be getting back on two feet and into something more comfortable like glittery spandex.” – Danny John-Jules
